Frequently asked questions
When does the Write Earn Thrive course start and finish?
The course begins and ends whenever you want it to. You can begin working through it whenever you want.
What's the time commitment?
Most students are able to complete Write Earn Thrive in around five weeks, spending two or three hours each week going through the content and implementing the lessons.
Others might take a few extra months to work through the program.
There really is no right or wrong amount of time to do this course.
The best time frame is the one that suits you and your current situation.
But I do recommend that to get the most out of the course set aside at least a couple of hours each week to go through the program, complete the worksheets and carry out the activities.
How long do I have access to the course materials for?
Access to the course and online community is for 12 months.
Why 12 months access?
Some online courses have traditionally been lifetime access, but course creators have found that people enrol thinking they have years to go through the material and guess what?
They never complete the course and therefore never get results.
I really want writers to be able to have these skills and knowledge and to get results quickly.
Twelve months is more than enough time for you to work through the course materials and see visible results.
Are there any prerequisites?
This course is aimed at people who have had experience writing - whether they've had articles published in newspapers or magazines, or have worked in-house in communications or on white papers etc. If you're not sure if it's a good fit for you, email me (lindy@lindyalexander.net) and we can chat - pressure free.
If you're a complete beginner, this course is probably not for you. But get in touch as I have another course for aspiring writers.
Do you cover how to actually do content writing?
No. Content writing really is no different from the skills you already have (if you have experience writing), so the course doesn't cover the technical aspects of writing.
But it does take you through how to work out the areas you want to write in, how to articulate your offer and how to find clients in the industry (or industries) you've selected.
I think content writing requires an understanding of keywords? Do you cover that?
My experience has been that if content needs to have key words and be SEO optimised, then the clients tend to let you know what words or phrases they want included. Or if they don't, this is something you can add on to a content proposal if you're confident. We have a bonus lesson on SEO optimised content that will bring you up to speed.
I know 'content writing' sounds like it's a totally different type of writing, but think of it like a feature article, it's just that your writing is for an organisation, business, university or non-profit rather than a publication.
You're charging in Australian dollars. How much is that in my currency?
It's always good to look at xe.com first to work out the exchange rate. Do note though that the rate shown is usually a little off, simply because it depends on your bank's conversion rate and if they charge a currency conversion fee.
If you're keen to know the exact rate, contact the bank associated with your card to find out the current conversion rate.
If I pay for the course with my credit card, is there a cost for the conversion?
When you go to pay and fill in all your details, the conversion will happen once you've paid. It'll be the exchange rate of your banking institution.

What is your refund policy?
If you’ve worked through some of the course and haven’t gained any value from it (or just don’t think the course is for you), I’ll happily refund your payment minus a $50 admin fee.
Refunds must be requested within 7 days of the course starting.
No refunds are provided after the first 7 days, and I do not provide pro-rata refunds for cancelled accounts. After the initial refund period expires, I will continue to process any remaining payments (if you have selected a payment plan option).
Are there any other material or equipment costs besides the enrolment cost of the course?
No. Everything you need is provided, but if you don't already have a folder organised to track and follow up with potential clients, you may like to create one on your laptop or desktop.
Do I get support, community, or direct access to you?
Each weekday I'm available in our private community (you'll get the details once you enrol) to answer and help with any challenges you're facing. Current students have commented on how engaged, active and helpful the Write Earn Thrive community is.
Do your techniques work globally and not just in Australia?
All the information and strategies I go through can be used successfully throughout the world. These strategies are based on techniques that I've used but also that my students have used with great success and they've been based in countries such as the USA, Canada, NZ, UK, Spain, France and Singapore.
Your online community is on Facebook. What if I'm not on (or don't want to be on) Facebook?
At the moment, the private Write EarnThrive community is hosted on Facebook. If you are not an active member on Facebook, you can still enrol in the course, but you just won't have access to the online community component.
